ANNUAL REPORT
Annual Report (October 1, 2008 through September 20, 2009)
Donations from the parish, other parishes and outside sources totaled $72,762 for fiscal year 2009. The funds collected are distributed in the 30044 zip code. Your donations enabled St. Vincent de Paul to help families with over 2,200 people with their utilities, rent and other bills. Your donations kept families from being evicted and gave evicted families temporary lodging. Your donations helped to feed the hungry and clothe the naked……just as our Lord and Savior asked us to do.
In the Atlanta Council’s annual Spring to Life Meeting Beth and Mick Oesterle were awarded the “Top Hat” award as the most outstanding Vincentians in North Georgia. Leo Payne was a runner up for the award. The Atlanta Council has been very impressed with our Budget and Life Skills classes. Jack Herndon, who heads this ministry, was asked to give workshops on these classes.
On November 22th we held our twelfth annual Thanksgiving Dinner Program. Our goal was to feed 200 families. Again this year, with the support of a generous parish, we exceeded that goal!! In December we will conduct our Christmas Gift Program. Our goal is to provide 150 children with gifts.
Please consider volunteering to help our brothers and sisters who are in need of assistance. With calls exceeding 100 per week, our phone line volunteers and caseworkers are stretched thin. One or two hours a week is all we ask!
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Atlanta provides financial, material, educational, and spiritual support to those in need, regardless of background or faith with other organization to empower people to achieve self-sufficiency.
